Materials
Finished size: 28" square
- 2/3 yd. floral with dark background for heart squares and outer borders
- ½ yd. floral with light background for background squares
(some people like to bring a third coordinating floral -1/2 yard- if they can find one)
- ½ yd. pink print for inner borders and binding
- 1 yd. for backing
- 32" x 32" batting
- 3/4 yd. Quilt Fuse or lightweight fusible interfacing (please do not search for this ahead of time. Mimi will have it available in class for a small fee- $3 per quilt)
Class Supplies
- Pink Ribbon Quilts (book available in class)
- basic sewing supplies
- sewing machine and extension cord
- thread to coordinate with your fabrics (please bring a full bobbin for your machine)
- rotary cutter, mat, and ruler
- small scissors
- a fat quarter of fabric to use as a press cloth (it will probably get messed up)
- iron and ironing surface (two students can share)
Before Class
- Wash and iron all fabrics.
- Cut out the borders:
- Cut four strips 22" x 1 ½" from the pink print fabric.
- Cut four strips 30" x 3 ½" from the dark floral fabric.
- Please wait for a few hints in class before cutting out the watercolor squares.
