Materials
- Finished size: 16 1/2" x 19 1/2"
- Fat quarter of floral or "tea cup" print fabric for borders
- Fat quarter of light blue print fabric for center applique background
- Fat quarter of yellow print for tea pot applique
- Fat quarter of red fabric for inner borders and appliqued heart
- Fat quarter of yellow print fabric for binding and letters
- 1/4 yard fusible web (Steam-a Seam-2 recommended)
- Red and yellow thread for accent stitching (floss for hand stitching)
- After class you will also need:
- 5/8 yard of print fabric for backing and sleeve
- 21 x 24 piece of lightweight batting
Class Supplies
- Easy Applique Samplers book available in class
- Rotary cutter and mat
- Ruler (6" x 12" recommended)
- Iron and ironing surface
- Fat quarter of muslin to use as pressing cloth
- Paper scissors
- Small sharp scissors that cut to the point
- Sharp pencil
- Fabric marker that will show on background fabric (silver pencil recommended)
- Tape (Scotch Removable Magic Tape recommended)
- Little bag for trash
- For Machine Stitching:
- Sewing machine and extension cord
- Full bobbin of thread for your machine
- For Hand Stitching:
- Embroidery needles (size 8)
- Thimble
Before Class
- Wash and iron all fabrics.
- Cut 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" rectangle from center background fabric.
