Materials
Finished size: 16 1/2" square
We will work on one block in class. This materials list is for a quilt with 4 blocks.
- 3/4 yd. white-on-white print for background, binding, and backing
- 1/8 yd. dark clay-colored fabric for pots
- 1/8 yd. light clay for pot rims (sometimes the other side of the dark fabric is perfect)
- 1/8 yd. green fabric for leaves
- ½ yd. dark purple for violets and borders
- 1/4 yd. light purple for borders
Class Supplies
- The Easy Art of Applique (book available in class)
- Thread to match or blend with applique fabrics
- Your favorite applique needles
- Thimble
- Paper scissors
- Small sharp scissors that cut to the point
- Straight pins
- Sharp pencil
- Fabric marker that will show on background fabric - silver pencil recommended
- 12" square of freezer paper
- Scotch tape (Scotch Removable Magic Tape recommended)
- Glue stick
- Small tweezers
- Little bag for trash
- Small yellow beads (seed beads) for flower centers
Before Class:
- Wash and iron all fabrics.
- Cut four squares, each 6" x 6" from background fabric. (Cut, do not tear)
